 Neoclassic architecture

Neoclassic architecture. In essence, the neoclassic architecture reproduces the forms generated by Greek and the Romans, but it does not take in suppressing to all reference to the measures of the body, preferring the new metric system adopted by the French and favoring the monumentality. The USA the discovered symbols and reasons in the furniture and buildings of Pompeya and Herculano.

Under the leadership of the French revolution first and Napoleon Bonaparte later, Roman buildings in France and the capitals of Europe and America are constructed. After the baroque one and of the Rococo, the neoclassicism represents a simplification: the airlines dominant on the curves exist less resistance of volumes, less adornments. The symmetry becomes general, thresholds and columns replace the arcs. The triangular frontons replace the circular ones and the balustrades reappear on the buildings.
