Water tanks. Water tanks. TEST OF
WATERTIGHTNESS IN THE WATER TANKS. The watertightness tests will
become once the Contractor has installed the pipes of water-drainages and
overflows, in addition, the pipes of adduction and supply, to where they have
been ordered by the Interventory, including accessories, corks and necessary
valves for those tests; also, the works in the interior of the tank will be
finished and clean, such as positioning and painting of stairs and baffle plates
of energy or baffle plates of the adduction tower. When there are possibilities
of provision of the water necessary to make the watertightness tests before the
victory of the contractual term, these will become before carrying out the
structural plenty of the walls of the tank to facilitate their inspection thus.
When it is impossible the water Pick up for the watertightness tests during the
term of construction, the Contractor will make the structural plenty around the
tank without the watertightness tests have been made. Nevertheless, this does
not exonerate to the Contractor of its responsibility as far as the
watertightness and the correction of the flights that appear.
Process of Test. In first term water will be stored until a height of 2,5 ms
and during the three (3) first days the water will stay in this level, replacing

During the six (6) following days, the level of the water will not be inferior

the water tank until a height of 2,50 ms, with respect to the bottom. Passed the
test previous, it will be continued with successive tests to five (5) ms and
overflows using the same precautions and repeating the process in case of being
flights in the second stage. When in opinion of the Interventory, the tank
fulfills the conditions of watertightness demanded by the Organization, the
Contractor will come, with written order of the Inspector, to execute the
structural plenty around the tank as they indicate the planes or according to
she is ordered by the Interventory. The tests will be executed under the
direction and responsibility of the Contractor and in addition, to there cost.
For its accomplishment, the best opportunity will study to execute them without
damage of the service of aqueduct of the population. The Contractor will
consider the time required for the tests within the term of construction of the
work.
REPAIR OF THE TANKS DUE TO FLIGHTS REVEALED BY THE WATERTIGHTNESS TESTS. If
the watertightness tests reveal flights or humidities that in opinion of the
Interventory do not fulfill the watertightness exigencies, the Contractor comes
to his repair, as well as of those parts of the work which they have shown
deterioration, being the term and the expenses required by such repairs, of
exclusive position of the Contractor and therefore she must right to protest to
the Organization neither to extension of the stipulated term nor to
indemnification by concept of such repairs. These repairs will be executed under
the direction of the engineer in charge of works, named by the Contractor, and
will have to be accepted, as far as procedure, forms and quality by the
