Steel of reinforcement. Steel of reinforcement. The work covered by this chapter consists of the provision, transports, cuts, dubbing, figuration, and positioning of steel bars for the reinforcement of structures and other works that they require of this element, in accordance with the designs and details shown in the planes in each case, the requirements of these specifications, the indicated thing in the Colombian Code of Earthquake-resistant constructions, and the instructions of the Inspector.

Arterial STEEL PROVISION, DOBLAJE, FIGURACION and POSITIONING OF REINFORCEMENT.
The Contractor free of defects, doublings and curves that cannot be straightened will provide the reinforcement rods. Round bars with a effort of cadence of 2,820 will be used smooth Kg/cm2, degree 40 and I sweep round corrugated with effort of 4,200 cadence of Kg/cm2 degree 60, in agreement with the planes, which will adjust to the norms of the Colombian Code of Earthquake-resistant Constructions in their C.3 chapter, C.3.5 section, or in their defect norms ASTM-1562 and ASTM-615-68 respectively. Lists and Diagrams of Quartering. When the planes do not include lists or diagrams of quartering, the Contractor will prepare them and put under the approval of the Inspector with an anticipation no smaller of fifteen (15) days, before ordering corle and doubled of the bars. This approval, will not exempt to the Contractor of its responsibility by the exactitude of the lists and diagrams of quartering, nor of its obligation to provide, to double and to place the reinforcement in correct form in agreement with these specifications.

Positioning of the Reinforcement.
The reinforcement bars will bend in cold in agreement with the details and dimensions shown in the planes. Bars will not be able to bend in the work that are partially contracted in the concrete one, except for when therefore it is indicated in the planes or it authorizes the Inspector. All the steel of reinforcement will be placed in the shown exact position in the planes and will have to make sure firmly, in form approved by the Inspector, to prevent its displacement during the positioning of the concrete one. For the mooring of the rods wire and in special cases will be used weld. The distance of the steel to formalists will stay by means of prefabricated, tensile blocks of mortar, silletas of steel or other devices approved by the Inspector. The metallic elements of support that are going to be in contact with the outer surface of the concrete one will not be corrosibles. In no case the stone use or wood blocks will be allowed to maintain the reinforcement in its place. The recommendable minimum separation for round rods must be of one (1) same time the diameter of, but the no smaller of 25 mm nor of 1-1/3 times maximum size of the aggregate.

The reinforcement rods, before their positioning in the work and immediately before the positioning of the concrete one, will be reviewed carefully and will be free as far as possible of oxide, earth, grudges, oils, paintings, fats and of any other strange substance that can diminish its adhesion with the concrete one. During the positioning of the concrete one it will be watched at any moment, that conserves stable the distances between the rods and the one of these to the internal faces of the formalists. The use of any metallic element or any other material that arises of the surfaces of the concrete one finished, different from the indicated thing in the planes or the additional specifications will not be allowed spec stableifically that they contain. Covering for the Reinforcement. The minimum covering for the reinforcements will be the indicated one in the planes, and where it is not specified, it will be as it follows: - When the concrete one is placed directly on the land, in contact with the ground: 8 cm. - In formaleteadas surfaces that are to be in contact with the ground and in their surfaces that are to be exposed outdoors or permanently submerged: 5 cm. - In any other case, he will not be smaller of 3 cm. - the covering in prefabricated and elements with concrete reinforced will be in agreement with the specified thing in the C-7 chapter, C.7.7 section (covering of reinforcement) of the Colombian Code of Earthquake-resistant Constructions.
