 Concrete asphalt

Concrete asphalt. Description. It includes/understands the construction of a concrete pavement of asphalt of mixed in plant and hot, extended dense gradation in one or several layers that will have the composition established by these specifications and the dimensions indicated in the designs or ordered by the Interventory.

Materials. It will reunite the following characteristics: General Composition. Concrete the asphalt one will consist of a crushed heavy aggregate combination, added fine and llenante mineral, uniformly mixed in hot with asphalt cement in a plant of asphalt mixtures that reunites to the requirements of quality and control for its product. Heavy Aggregates. The portion of aggregates retained in sieve no. 4 will denominate heavy aggregate and will be constituted by rock or burdens crushed and will be constituted by clean and durable, free material of dust, objectionable lumps of clay or other materials that can prevent the adhesion of asphalt to stony aggregates. The material, to the being submissive the test of abrasion in the machine of the Angels, will have to present/display a smaller wearing down of 40%. The crushed aggregate will not show signals of disintegration nor of greater loss of 12% when putting under it five (5) cycles in the test of solidity in sodium sulphate. At least a 50% in weight of particles retained in sieve no. 4 will have at least one fractured face. The material will be put under the test of adhesions (stripping) and the percentage of the total area of the aggregate on which the bituminous film is adhered will be superior to 95%. Fine Aggregate.

The portion of aggregate who happens through sieve no. 4 and is retained in the No.200 sieve, denominates fine aggregate and will consist of natural, material sand of crushing or of combination of both and it will be made up of clean, hard grains, of rough and angular, free surface of lumps of clay or objectionable material that can prevent the complete adhesion of asphalt to grains. The fine material of crushing will take place of stone or gravel that fulfills the requirements demanded for the heavy aggregate. The fine aggregate of crushing will have an equivalent one of sand superior to 50%. Mineral Llenante. When mineral llenante is required, this one will consist of dust of limestone stone, dust of dolomita, ashes of coal or smelting, Portland cement or another inert mineral material. He will be dry and free of lumps. Gradation of the Mineral Llenante. Sieve % that Happens in Weight, 30 100, 200 95 - 100, 80 65 - 100. Bituminous Material. The bituminous material will fill the requirements stipulated by the Asphalt Institute and it will be tried in agreement with the respective norms of the ASTM and will be asphalt cement with penetration 60-100 or in its defect 85-100. Granulometry of Aggregates.
