Dominique Perrault.
Dominique Perrault (1953, Clermont-Ferrand, France) is perhaps youngest of the
figures of weight in the contemporary architectonic scene, privilege that is due
to the fact of to have gained with an original proposal the Aid for the National
Library of Paris and which could salary to make specific the erection of this
work, one of the greatest between the carried out emprendimientos in Paris in
the last quarter of this century. Been born in Clermont-Ferrand, Auvernia in
1953, it is received from architect in the Ecole Nationale Supérieure DES Beaux
Arts of Paris in 1978. It the following year receives the Certificate of
Superior Studies in Urbanism of the Ecole Nationale DES Ponts ET Chaussées of
Paris and in 1980 Diploma of Deep Studies in History of Ecole DES Social Hautes
Etudes in Sciencies, also of Paris. Between that last year and 1982 it works
with Martín van Treck, René Dottelonde and Antoine Grumbach. It receives by his
first works several regional distinctions among them 1er. Prix Architecture &
Maitres d'Ouvrage by the usina Someloir in 1984, the spécial Prix du département
of Seine-ET-Marne and the Prix du Cercle of l'Arcade in 1987, and the
départemental Prix d'architecture contemporaine ESIEE (Seine-ET-Marne) in 1988.
From 1988 it is Member of the Council of Administration and the Directory of the
Institut Francais d'Architecture, and Member of the Scientific and Technical
Council of the Ecole Espéciale d'Architecture. As of 1990 he is
Architect-advisor of the city of Nantes and that same year it receives among
other prizes the Silver medal of urbanism by the Library of France, granted by
the Fondation of l'Académie d'Architecture. In 1992 it receives the European
Prize by the Industrial Architecture, conferred by the Deutsche Messe To G
Hannover, by his project for the industrial hotel Jean-Baptiste Berlier. Finally
in 1993 d'Architecture receives the Grand Prix National.
