It has received among other prizes the Annual Prize of
the Institute of Architecture of Japan (in 1975, by the Museum of Beautiful Arts
of Gunma), the title of Horseman of the order of the Arts and the Letters
(1984), the Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Arnold
W. Memorial Brunner Prize, of the American Academy and Institute of Arts and
Letters (1988) and the Chicago Architecture Award (1990). He is professor
visitor in the Universities of Columbia (New York), Harvard (Cambridge, Mass.),
California (Los Angeles), Hawaii (Honolulu), Yale (New Haven, Conn.) and of the
Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, R.I.). |
